The structures, landscape, trails and interpretive elements are sited to minimize the impact of this trailhead facility on the very rich and sensitive desert environment. The thick walls of the trailhead structures are constructed of “desert masonry” utilizing native granite boulders salvaged from the site.  Interpretive components focus on the Sonoran Desert ecology and the historical connections to the various cultures that have inhabited the Pinnacle Peak valley.
