Located adjacent to bustling Mill Avenue and a Valley Metro Light Rail stop in downtown Tempe, Arbor is an extensive adaptive re-use development that redefines the office & retail landscapes. Floor Associates envisioned the redesign of hardscape & landscape throughout the site, with a project program comprised of patio & semipublic spaces for food & beverage tenants, updated design of public streetscapes to further enhance retail presence in the pedestrian realm, and a complete reimagining of circulation and private common space design within the gated portions of the greater office complex. Interior circulation patterns were carefully composed to organize the project program and create gathering spaces with varying levels of privacy based upon their intended use. Plant materials were methodically integrated throughout to segment the site, creating a sense of discovery to the user. With its myriad of inviting exterior spaces, Arbor Tempe’s success lies in its ability to draw the employee from the confines of a desk to the reprieve of its gardens.
