Paradise Valley Residence

download case study

Remodel of a 1950’s modern home on the Paradise Valley Golf Course. The major components of the hardscape design included a new negative-edge swimming pool with concrete decking that matched the 10 foot square module repeated throughout the original design. The pool security fence was constructed of vertical rusted steel pipe to blend into the desert landscape and minimize detraction from surrounding mountain views. A new autocourt area was created using the same modular layout to soften the transition between old and new. Selected plant materials were thinned or removed. The existing palette was updated and complimented by the addition of new specimens emphasizing sculptural forms and seasonal color intended to energize the landscape while complimenting the new hardscape design.
